Vocational Course Fee Information

The information on this page is extracted from our fee policies, which are subject to change from time to time. Before accepting an offer, please check the current Fees Policy and Procedure and Refund Policy and Procedure on our Policies and Forms webpage.

This section applies to domestic students only. A domestic student is:

  • An Australian or New Zealand citizen,
  • A permanent resident of Australia, or
  • A holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa.

All other students are international students.

Tuition Fee Information

  • Tuition fees must be paid each semester, by either the date specified in the VET Subject Selection Form (available under the “Fees Policy and Procedure” heading of our Policies and Forms webpage) or, if enrolment occurs after the commencement date, within 14 days of receipt of the payment invoice.
  • If fees are not paid by their due date, a late fee of $250 will be charged and the student may lose their place in the course.
  • Tuition fees do cover the charges for tuition administration, initial uniform and clinical placement handbook.
  • Tuition fees do not cover the charges for the third re-assessment of an assessment item, first aid training, accommodation, living expenses, non-compulsory textbooks, additional uniforms, stationery, and equipment.
  • Tuition fees are subject to change from year to year in accordance with the Fees Policy and Procedure.

VET Student Loans

VET Student Loans are a loan scheme funded by the Commonwealth Government.  Eligible students in our HLT52021 Diploma of Remedial Massage course can use them to pay for all or part of their tuition fees. For more information and to apply, please visit our VET Student Loans page.

Other Financial Assistance

Austudy and Youth Allowance are available for eligible full-time students enrolled in the HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage. Contact Centrelink for further information:

Incidental Fees

Incidental fees are not covered by tuition fees. Incidental fees include:

  • Printed copies of materials: $0.20 is charged per single sided print (b&w).
  • Copies of Academic Transcripts (Where first copy provided free of charge): $20.00
  • Copies of Formal Qualifications (Where first copy provided free of charge): $50.00
  • Student ID Card (Where first copy provided free of charge): $20.00
  • Re-assessment of an assessment item (Where a student has been provided with two re-attempt opportunities at no cost): $150.00

Transfer of Fees

No fees can be transferred to another institution or person.

Refunds

The census date for a unit of study is the last day in Week 4 of a semester, as identified in the Academic Calendar. If a student withdraws or defers from a unit on or before the census date for that unit, 100% of tuition fees paid for that unit will be refunded to the student. If a student withdraws or defers from a unit of study after census date for that unit of study, no refund is available.

Refunds if SITCM Defaults

A student may receive a refund if SITCM defaults for one of the following reasons:

  • The offered course does not start on the published or agreed starting day, or
  • A course stops being provided after it starts and before it is completed.

A refund of unspent tuition fees may be provided within two weeks of the default day. Please refer to the VET Tuition Assurance Policy and Procedure (available on our Policies and Forms webpage) for further details.

Enrolment Fee

An enrolment fee of $285 is payable to cover administrative costs associated with the enrolment process.

Refund Policy (Including Visa Rejection)

  • If an application for a student visa is rejected for an international student applying for enrolment from offshore, then all tuition fees will be refunded in full provided that documentary evidence is supplied within 14 days of visa rejection. The course application fee will not be refunded.
  • If a student withdraws from a course and provides written notification to SITCM before the semester commencement date, 90% of the tuition fees paid will be refunded. The course application fee will not be refunded.
  • If a student withdraws from a course within 4 weeks after the semester commencement date, 70% of the tuition fees paid will be refunded. The course application fee will not be refunded.
  • If a student withdraws from a course 4 weeks after the commencement date of the semester, no refund will be provided.
  • All requests for refund must be made in writing. SITCM undertakes to make payment of all refunds within 28 days of receipt of a written application for refund.
  • SITCM will provide a statement that explains how any refund amount has been calculated.
